MY STEEL EXPERIENCE
“Outstanding customer service, brilliant photography, superbly presented and packaged, supplied on the highest grade bromide paper.

Patrick was completely focused, unbelievably helpful, professionally outstanding….redefined the phrase ‘customer service’ to ‘customer valued’. Additionally, plenty of email updates, such a personalised service, and that magic formula called ‘care’.

A brand is what a business does, reputation is what matters…you guys have that in bucket loads!

Thank you for a wonderful piece of art and making The Arthur Steel Archive experience a very special one.”

Dear Patrick,

I felt that I had to write to say ‘Thank you’ to both you and your Father for handling the recent purchase from your company so professionally.

From the very beginning, you have been so very helpful and truly do put your customers at the forefront of any negotiations and choices.

The videos you have sent regarding what goes into providing this purchase have been brilliant and are something to keep and show to my husband when he is presented with his present!!

Not only have you given advice on the print itself but you went further and provided all relevant information in respect of how to have the framing undertaken – superb!!

It is always enlightening to receive such customer focused service in a professional and timely manner and the fact that you went out of your way to ensure that I received the print very quickly was exceptional.

I will certainly be recommending you to all our friends and others who may be interested in your Father’s great and poignant work over the years.

Please pass on my thanks to ‘Dad’ and again thank you too.

Brilliant – absolutely brilliant!!

Thank you again – and be afraid as I will get back to you in due course to add to our ‘collection’!!!

Kindest regards,

Mrs L. Heywood – Colchester.

“I was completely thrilled with absolutely everything after purchasing my print from The Arthur Steel Archive. The beauty and energy in Arthur Steel’s iconic photographs is just mesmerising and really makes you feel like you’re looking at something really quite special. When Patrick (Arthur’s son) informed me that one of the largest 50 inch prints of ‘Upper Glasses’ was still available I felt like I’d struck gold, that’s how good I think these prints are.

The service that I received was faultless and I was sent a video update of every single stage of the process.

There is so much passion in what they do, you can just sense that they are delighted with the appreciation of their work, which just compliments the whole process. I could not recommend The Arthur Steel Archive any more – just fantastic.”

Dear Patrick,

I wanted to write to you and thank you again for all your help with our purchase. The moment we saw your Father’s photograph we just knew that we had to have it. As soon as we arrived back home to Spain we acquired a print online.

The care and attention you provided at every step of the process was one of a kind. You gave us constant updates throughout and best of all: the video you sent us of your Father signing ‘our photo’. And once the print was delivered, you kindly advised us on the framing and remained just as engaged.

For all this, I wanted to write to you and thank you again for making the process so nice and personal. It was without a doubt the best customer experience I have ever had with an online purchase (or offline for that matter!).

Please send our regards to your Father once again and let him know how happy his photograph makes us feel every single time we see it.

All the best from Madrid,

Juan Teijeiro – Madrid, Spain.

We can honestly say that you “walked the extra mile”!

Ideal for a Christmas treat!

My wife and I had been following the Arthur Steel collection for some time after purchasing a beautiful landscape picture of Wimbledon Common taken by his son Patrick, a few years ago.

Patrick introduced us to his father’s work and we instantly took a shine to his quirky, bespoke and intimate photographs. Getting closer and closer to Christmas we thought to ourselves what a wonderful treat it would be to see if we could purchase a print and get it framed and hung in time for Christmas.

Having found the perfect place in our home for the Westminster Bridge photograph, Patrick promised us that he would pull out all the stops to ensure it would be hanging for Christmas Day. Not only did he deliver on this but he also provided us with a certificate of authenticity and even sent us a video of his father signing the print with a personnel message; something we both cherish.

The pride, care and attention that is associated with any of the Steel collections is first class and I would thoroughly recommend them as a Christmas or Birthday treat if you are lucky enough, the prints have brought us hours of joy.

Dear Patrick,

Just wanted to thank you again for the excellent communication and service with my recent overseas purchase via The Arthur Steel Archive website. Response to my emails was swift, if not immediate. You gave sound advice and continued updates once the photograph was sent to my address. Love the personnel touch of the video from your father. I’m very, very happy with the end result hanging at my home.

Thanks again, and warmest regards to you and your father.

I’d long admired Mr Steel’s work and had my eye on “Upper Glasses” for quite some time.  When my wife and I moved into a new flat, I finally bit the bullet and ordered a print.  I’m so glad I did!  The photograph is absolutely stunning and has already become a conversation starter when friends see it in my home.  Throughout the ordering process, Mr Steel and his son were lovely to work with.  I particularly enjoyed receiving the video of Mr Steel signing my print – what a wonderful touch!  Overall, I’m thrilled with the artwork!

“We were absolutely delighted to able to acquire one of Arthur’s unique photographs for our clients newly opened
5 star hotel, The Cashel Palace, Co Tipperary, Ireland.

My team and I discovered Arthur’s incredibly rare photographs online and contacted Patrick immediately.

Our clients wanted to display a very special print that hadn’t been seen before and given their connection with Horse Racing; ‘The Upper Glasses’ was perfectly appropriate.

Even though deadlines were tight, Patrick still managed to produce and deliver the bespoke signed and framed piece on time. We then commissioned our own professional crating/shipping service to ensure its safe arrival to Ireland.

Patrick provided a flawless service and we will most certainly be placing more orders with him in the near future.”

A 20 inch
Twiggy’ – Chelsea, London 1966
A 20 inch ‘What do you think of it so far?’ – Eric Morecambe, His Study 1981

“We are delighted and very fortunate to have two of Arthur Steel’s iconic portraits hanging in our Chelsea flat – Twiggy, appropriately captured on the King’s Road and Eric Morecombe in typically eccentric mode. The prints very much contrast each other in terms of subject and mood, but share the same distinctive, unique artistry and vision of their photographer. The image of Twiggy is striking and captivating in its unguarded natural beauty, whereas Eric’s portrait is one of hilarious, quirky spontaneity.

When we finally selected our prints (a tricky decision-making process as there are so many of Arthur’s wonderful pictures we would love to have!), Patrick, on behalf of his father, provided an extremely  professional and efficient service, offering excellent advice on the size of print and type of frame to choose for the setting in question. The prints are of the highest quality, beautifully presented and packaged for safe delivery. All of which, together with the Certificate of Authenticity and video of Arthur signing each print, adds to the exclusive experience, making them perfect for a very special gift.

Our guests are always immediately drawn to these pictures, which have proved to be great conversation pieces.

We look forward to treating ourselves to the next addition to our collection – once we have managed to decide between so many outstanding options!”

El Beatle – George Best, Sussex 1985

“I am now the proud owner of one of Arthur Steel’s unique photographs. I had been looking for iconic images of one of my footballing heroes George Best for some time and came across Arthur’s works hanging within one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants in London. I googled ‘Arthur Steel’ and easily found his website. As soon as I came across the image of my hero relaxing in a hotel bath, having just been released from Ford Prison, I immediately felt that being such a unique image of one of the greatest players to grace the world of football; this was something I had to own.

The photograph is just wonderful, as his famous legs and feet are both featured in the image.

The process of buying the print was extremely easy and communication with Patrick (Arthur’s son) was swift and professional. My purchase arrived promptly and very well packaged, supplied flat in a robust box. The icing on the cake was the video that Arthur made especially for me, when he came to sign the print; such a lovely touch.

I shall cherish this print and cannot recommend The Arthur Steel Archive highly enough to any potential collectors thinking of investing in unique quintessentially British views on life by Photographer Arthur Steel. Thank you.”
